- Ms. Emily Nguyen | Co-Chair | Director, International Tax & Transaction Service, EY Vietnam

BACKGROUND & RATIONALE
The finance sector plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth, facilitating investments, and ensuring a stable business environment. With rapid changes in banking, insurance, fintech, capital markets, and regulatory frameworks, there is a growing need for a dedicated platform within SingCham to represent, coordinate, and advance the interests of members operating in or engaging with the financial services sector.
Currently, stakeholders in the financial sector face challenges including:
- Navigating evolving domestic and international regulations
- Responding to technological disruptions such as digital banking and fintech innovation
- Addressing concerns on financial inclusion, sustainability, and ESG standards
- Enhancing collaboration between financial institutions and businesses in other sectors
Establishing a Finance Sector Committee in SingCham will provide a structured and authoritative forum to address these issues, advocate on behalf of members, and contribute to shaping policy and best practices.
OBJECTIVES & PRIORITIES
The Finance Sector Committee will aim to:
- Policy Advocacy – Provide recommendations and position papers to government, regulators, and stakeholders on financial policies, taxation, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge Sharing – Organize seminars, roundtables, and research initiatives to keep members updated on emerging trends and risks.
- Business Facilitation – Act as a bridge between financial institutions and enterprises across sectors to foster partnerships, investments, and access to finance.
- Networking Platform – Provide a structured platform for members to connect with peers, regulators, and international financial communities.
- Sustainable Finance – Promote ESG-aligned practices, green finance, and responsible investment standards within the membership.
