Singapore Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (SCCV) is pleased to co-host CanCham Vietnam a free Webinar on “Advantage Vietnam: Opportunities for Investors in Vietnam’s Emerging Industries & Startup Ecosystem”, in partnership with our member – Leaps & Bounds
The sole purpose of the event is to showcase the potential of the burgeoning economy of Vietnam for the global business community. The event will also provide the glimpse of emerging industries which are in a nascent stage and carrying a lot of room for investors to jump in to take the first mover advantage. Vietnam is a home of four Unicorns and this event will give an insight of the Startups Ecosystem of Vietnam and how it is so conducive for people with entrepreneurial minds.
Speakers:
– Mr. Vishwas Saraswat – Founder & Director, Leaps & Bounds
Mr. Vishwas Saraswat is a young and energetic professional having 12+ years of work experience in India, Singapore and Vietnam. He is an MBA graduate from NMIMS Mumbai, India and moved to Vietnam in 2017 from Singapore. He is also board of governor of INCHAM (Indian Business Chamber) Vietnam. Mr. Vishwas is also a fitness freak and avid reader.
– Dr. Quynh Tran – Commercial Counsellor, Head of Trade Office – Embassy of the S. R. of Viet Nam in Canada
She received her BA in international law from Vietnam Institute of International Relations in 1999. She then went to Namur University (Belgium), earning M.A. in International Economics in 2001. She earned a Ph.D in International Relations and Development Studies in Geneva in 2010 (University of Geneva). During her PhD journey, she also served as assistant to the Vice-President of the International Committee of the Red Cross. She was a lecturer in International Cooperation for Development at the Graduate Institute of Development Studies in Geneva and at the University of Olomouc (Czech Rep) for a few years. Dr. Tran returned to Vietnam and began her career in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, focusing on competition and economic integration. Starting 2007, she served as international adviser at Vietnam Competition Council. She was a Counsellor to Singapore from 2017 to January 2022, and served at the same time as Head of Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore. In April 2022, she came to Ottawa as Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Viet Nam in Canada and Head of Vietnam Trade Office in Canada. She speaks English and French.
– Mr. Jameel Somji – Founder & CEO, SpiNovation Labs
Jameel is the Founder & CEO of SpiNovation Labs, Inc., which helps companies prototype and test innovative product ideas in 5 days using Google’s Design Thinking methodology.
Previously, Jameel helped Manulife build its first innovation lab in Toronto, Canada.
Jameel has over 15 years of experience working in financial services, has taught a product design course in the Master of Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship program at Ryerson University and is a CFA charter holder.
