Outward Bound Vietnam (OBV) partners with schools to design outdoor learning programmes tailored to their curriculums. These programmes, set against the backdrop of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Binh Dinh – a city of beach combine experiential learning and adventures. OBV’s mission is to challenge students, fostering growth and self-discovery.
Each OBV programme is tailored to different age levels, focusing on carefully selected learning outcomes. A structured schedule ensures a smooth journey, with each group of 14 students guided by 2 OBV staff and a schoolteacher. OBV extends its educational commitment beyond the trip, conducting pre-trip briefings for students, parents, and teachers, covering equipment use and addressing concerns.
The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Republic Polytechnic (RP) have experienced OBV courses. SUSS students attended a 12-day course in December 2023, where they engaged in outdoor activities including kayaking, trekking, and caving. The program also included sessions on leadership styles and nightly reflections, fostering self-awareness and leadership abilities.
Similarly, an RP cohort immersed themselves in a 7-day OBV course at the Ha Long base, participating in outdoor activities while developing leadership skills through reflections and workshops.
