SBG’s new logo: new change for new challenges and opportunities
On SBG’s 22 years anniversary, the group officially unveils a new logo to mark this significant milestone in welcoming a new era of change in Vietnam.
25 August 2014 – During Singapore’s National Day celebrations on 9 August this year, the Singapore Business Group officially unveiled its new logo. It was also SBG’s 22nd anniversary and a fitting occasion for this significant milestone.
Since the inception of the SBG in 1992, bilateral ties between Vietnam and Singapore have grown from strength to strength with Singapore ranking among the top three investors in Vietnam in recent years. Thus, leading to this change of logo to reflect the progress and growth of Singapore’s presence in Vietnam.
The change of logo underscores its transformation from what was known as a social club to a premier business institution to meet the reality of the new economic landscape in Vietnam, and the relevant needs of its members living in Ho Chi Minh City.
The new SBG logo portrays a burning flame inspired by the pioneering Singaporeans of SBG – the trailblazers, communicates the commitment of SBG to her members in leading the way in creating inroads of opportunities in Vietnam.
Vietnam is represented by the first red wave of flame with yellow star in the middle, and Singapore is represented by the second and third waves of flame with white and red including the five stars and the crescent moon, to emphasize how Vietnam is both the spark and reason for the establishment of the Singapore community in Ho Chi Minh City.
The new logo was unveiled by SBG president, Mr Norman Lim, at SBG’s Singapore 49th Birthday Bash with Her Excellency, Ms Leow Siu Lin, Consul-General of Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as the Guest-of-Honour.
The event was attended by 330 guests, including members of SBG consisting of MNCs and SMEs, key business leaders, and foreign and local business association leaders at the Duxton Hotel Saigon.
