The 53rd Singapore National Day has marked another milestone in the list of Singapore Business Group HCMC (SBG)’s activities and events in 2018. On the 9th of August, SBG has organized an opened networking session to honor and celebrate the birthday of Singapore with the great support from our venue sponsor – The Reverie Saigon and event partner – Kingsmen Vietnam.
Singapore National Day is once-in-a-year activity to celebrate the birthday of this great country so it means a great deal to not only SBG members but also all Singaporeans who are currently working, living in Vietnam as well as people from different nations. In order to keep this momentum, SBG was driven to deliver a big scale to the event and bring as many attendees to the event as possible. We hope that by attending this one-of-two biggest events of SBG, people will be able to understand more about the image of Singapore and to grow more love for this country as much as we do.
On this big occasion, it was our great pleasure to welcome the representatives from Consulate – General of The Republic of Singapore HCMC including Ms. Haliza Begum (Consul), Mr. Alvin Tay (Attaché) and Mr. Tailford Jeremiah John (Attaché Designate).
On the other hand, we also had the honor to welcome representatives who are chairpersons of other foreign chambers of commerce in Vietnam including Singapore Tourism Board, Australian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, Belgian & Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam, Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, CEO Club, The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Association for Women Executives & Entrepreneurs, Ho chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organization , Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam, Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, Malaysia Business Chamber Vietnam, The Thai Business (Vietnam) Association.
The event was extremely successful with the attendance of almost 500 attendees including SBG members, Singaporeans living in Vietnam, as well as many people of different nationalities. There was no boundary when it comes to a national day and everyone is welcomed.
This event would never be such successful without the great support and generosity from our booth sponsors. Together they have helped the event to catch more attention and receive more visits. Here at SBG, we also truly wish that all our event attendees have had the chance to visit all the booths and be introduced to a wide range of great services.
More importantly, the event program was running all smoothly thanks to the support for the LED Screen coming from Cosmo Laundry & Dry Cleaning (Trieu Van JSC). This screen has played an extremely role in streaming the live National Parade from Singapore as well as other acts.
The event commenced at 4:00PM with Singapore theme songs from 2010 till 2018 to introduce the Singapore image to event attendees. It then followed by the live stream of the National Day Parade 2018 organised at the Marina Bay floating platform. Prior to the event opening remark of SBG’s President – Mr Norman Lim, all participants had the chance to harmonize with the atmosphere in Singapore to salute the flags when the National Anthem of Vietnam and Singapore were played. Then, all Singaporeans in the ballroom together recited the Singapore National Pledge.
We believe that besides having an opportunity to celebrate this meaningful occasion, people are also able to hang out with their partners, friends to expand their business relationships and networking. Together we are connected and will create greater values to their community as a whole.
Most importantly, one of the event highlights that can be counted is the mini quiz about Singapore that has been hosted by representative from Singapore Tourism Board (STB) – Ms. Jolene Goh. Her interesting questions about Singapore and the carefully-picked gifts had definitely driven people to find out more about Singapore and the culture of this beautiful country.
In our deepest appreciation, we would like to thank all our in-kind sponsors for offering these valuable prizes that made the event more enjoyable.
We would take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the following sponsors for their generous contribution towards the success of this event:
