The Singapore Business Group (SBG) organized the Reunion Dinner, an exclusive gala event, as an ongoing tradition forourmembers to network and catch-up with friends and business associates in Ho Chi Minh City for the Tet Holiday occasion.More than 200 guests gathered to celebrate and welcome the incoming Year of the Monkey during the 16th of January2016at DuxtonSaigon Hotel.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Her Excellency Ms Leow Siu Lin, Singapore Consul-General, and representatives of Consulate-General Office of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City as well as other business chambers/associations to share the blissful occasion of the Lunar New Year together with the Singaporean community.

On behalf of the SBG, Mr. Norman Lim, President of SBG, extended a welcome address andhis warmest Tet (Lunar New Year) greetings to one and all. The SBG president wished the Singaporean community in Vietnam as well as all guests and friends a year full of happiness, health and success during the start of the celebrations.

The dinner started with Yu Sheng (the tossing of the prosperity salad) which brought to the celebration a festive atmosphere and cheerful mood. The ballroom was filled with joyfulness and excitement when all the guests stood up to mix the Yu Sheng dish together and speak aloud their wishes for a prosperous and dynamic Lunar New Year. Immediately thereafter, the performance of the lion dance further enlivened the ambiance of the event.

The highlight of the Reunion Dinner was the fascinating presentation about 2016-Year of Bing Shen and the 12 Chinese Zodiacs of Master Lim Cheng Lee, a well-known Feng Shui Master from Singapore. After the performance, he also received questions from the audience and gave advice on Feng Shui solutions.

The exciting table games and two lucky draw rounds raised the enthusiasm of all the guests throughout the evening. Numerous valuable prizes such as two LCD TV sets, eight mini refrigerators, and two microwave ovens were presented to dozens of lucky winners by Her Excellency Ms. Leow Siu Lin, Consul-General, the SBG president and the event sponsors.

At the end of the event, two SG50 notes were put up for auction to contribute to the SBG Education Fund Program whose scholarship awards are held annually every September with the aim of supporting underprivileged Vietnamese students in their studies.

The Reunion Dinner enabled SBG members to gather with families and friends to enjoy authentic Singaporean food along with exclusive performances. It also served as an occasion to meet new friends and potential business partners.
“The event was very well-organized and meaningful. I was very happy and I enjoyed the dinner. The greatest prize I won today was the opportunity to build new relationships” shared Mr. Mark Cheong, Head of Marketing and Sales of DHL Global Forwarding Vietnam Corporation.
