The Gala Dinner also had the pleasure to welcome Her Excellency Ms Leow Siu Lin, Consul-General, Singapore Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City to share the joyous occasion of the Lunar New Year with the Singaporean and Malaysian community in Ho Chi Minh City. His Excellency, Mr Sharyll Zahiran, Consulate General for Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City also graced the event.

One of 600 guests, Mr. Sundararaman Gopalakrishnan, Chief Representative of Sudima Panels Co. Ltd, travelling with his spouse from Binh Duong to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the dinner, remarked, “The food and the activities during the program were great and very exciting. I love the lion dance. The people attending the events were also very friendly and nice. I had good food, met new people and made friends. I hope there will be more events like this coming up this year.”
Starting with a grand opening lion dance, followed by games and a unique fire circle special skills performance and three lucky draw rounds with plenty of valuable prizes for guests, the Gala Dinner was not only a chance for friends and families to gather and enjoy authentic Singaporean food with exclusive performances, but also served as an occasion to meet new friends and potential business partners.

“I enjoyed the food and the program. The fire circle performance by two brothers was very impressive. The timing of the event was also perfect for all of us to attend as we had enough time to relax and come back to town from Tet’s holiday,” shared Mr. Victor Lim, Director of Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park.

Chap Goh Meh – Tet Gala Dinner marked the very first event jointly organized by Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Singapore Business Group to strengthen the bond and commemorate shared heritage between Singaporeans and Malaysians living in Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City.
